sunday's best: compassion

Luke 15: 3-7
Wow. I am such a baby. I've been so good about being super composed in class ... and I lost it today. I don't know if it was because I am just hormonal ... isn't that why all teenage girls cry? I don't know. I've been having these little prima donna break downs all week, and they don't really have a cause -- but for the lesson, I think I was feeling the spirit. At least, I hope so, or else I'm gunna assume that more hormonal outbreaks are going to occur in the future.

Anyways, I've decided that if I don't blog for the whole week, I won't bore with all the trite details that happen to me. After all, they seem to be getting more and more repetitive as my routine is starting to solidify. Instead, I will just focus on what happens that day, and go from there.

Today I:

a.) learned about the miracles of compassion.
b.) ran through the house deep cleaning so I could find my missing wallet/phone. Only the phone was recovered. :(
c.) ate a lot of yummy food.

The lessons today for church were STUPENDOUS! It seemed to revolve for me around compassion and miracles, although neither of the lessons had to do with compassion. I never stopped to think about the miracles that happen daily in my life. It also really struck me that a huge miracle that is always available to me is forgiveness and comfort through Jesus. I don't know why I haven't realized that ... but as I look back at my life and all of the great and crappy experiences that have happened to me, I finally know that the Savior and Heavenly Father were always there to help me. I didn't always take advantage of it ... but I know that my Heavenly Father knows what is best for me.

  1. You know I have to comment on this. I loved the story you shared in class today, and I was definitely feeling the spirit - so I hope it was the same for you (although trust me, I have PLENTY of hormonal crying, and it isn't just when you are a teenager!! :)

I guess I never really looked at compassion as something I could have taken away from that lesson, but now that you mention it I think it fits perfectly. Thanks for sharing - and I hope you have a wonderful week!!

    (PS. I loved your sweater!!)
