a gift from above

Netflix has quickly replaced any form of entertainment at my house. It seems like we spend hours at a time watching the wonderful miracle of "instant streaming." It really is heavenly and convenient, even if it is slowly turning my brain to mush.

Any ways, today was a very relaxing day. I sat down with my fathers iPad and listened to show tunes and General Conference, because -- to be honest -- I have been procrastinating a Shakespeare paper for a whole week, and the snow day was a perfect excuse to continue in that grand tradition.

Right before bed, I turned on the TV and checked what was on the BYU channel first (it was a rerun of BYU Weekly that I saw last night) and then I instinctively switched the light to Netflix. Ahhhhhhhh, I can't even tell you the mental image it gives me every time imagining the limitless treasures that I can watch on it's incredible viewing screen.

If you aren't familiar with Netflix and it's categories, they are truly something. When you watch anything on the instant stream, Netfix tracks your views and then has similar things pop up under categories that your viewing selection is under. Tonight the category was witty, funny TV shows. Luckily, that was just what I was in the mood for. (Netflix also has mind reading technology). Looking through the shows, there didn't seem to be anything that was incredible until I stumbled on ...

Drop Dead Diva: Season 1

Oh My Word. I remember being introduced to this by my Nandy (my dad's mom) and I liked it ... but I really didn't think more of it. After re watching it however, I find this show so refreshing after a pretty drab, "doing the slob" day. If you can't tell, I think it's very good ... at least five stars. Boy am I glad for discoveries like this.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go devour another episode.
